Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, Jérémy Recchione represents a new wave of Burgundy, deeply committed to authenticity, ecology, and emotional clarity in wine. A self-made grower and winemaker, Jérémy’s journey to unpacking the complexity of Burgundy’s terroirs began in 2010 while working first with Sylvain Cholet (Meursault), and then with Pierre Naigeon (Gevrey). It was at Domaine Pierre Naigeon that Jeremy met Mark Haisma (former winemaker of Yarra Yerring, and now also a notable Burgundian producer). After a brief stint in Australia, Jeremy returned to the Côte de Nuits, where in 2013 he began vinifying small lots of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay sourced from friends. What started as a side project soon became a calling.

In 2019, Jérémy founded his own domaine with the purchase of Bourgogne Aligoté "Les Cerisiers" in Messanges (Hautes Côtes de Nuits). His holdings have since expanded to include prestigious lieux-dits such as Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru "Les Lavières," Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru "En Caradeux," Fixin 1er Cru "Les Hervelets," and Gevrey-Chambertin "Creux Brouillard," among others. He also farms parcels in Meursault, Saint-Romain, and more recently Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru "Clos Reyssié." Outside Burgundy, he experiments with Nebbiolo, Timorasso, Grenache, and Viognier, producing small-batch cuvées in Italy and the Rhône.

His winemaking is defined by minimal intervention: hand-harvested fruit, cold pre-fermentations, native yeasts, no additions, and little or no sulphur. Fermentations take place in ceramic or neutral vessels, and yields are tightly controlled through meticulous green harvesting and debudding. What results are pure, vibrant, and finely chiselled wines, expressing each site’s character with remarkable clarity.

Though still producing just 2,500 bottles annually, Jérémy’s wines have quickly gained attention for their precision and sincerity. His natural sparkling Aligoté, low-sulphur Pinot Noirs, innovative yet respectful expansions into Rhone & Italy, and his expanding range of finely interpreted Burgundian crus mark him as one of the region’s most exciting and refreshing new voices.
